Versatile musician Stone Kay was born Ankomah Bernard in Nkawkaw-E/R, Ghana on March 6, 1989.He was brought up by his senile grandmother at an early stage of his life, before age 8. They lived in asmall mud hut in a secluded community called Bebua in the Kwahu East District in Ghana. There he hadhis elementary education to basic 2. He was later taken to Accra to stay with his father (late) andstepmother. There he continued his education from basic 3-6. Schooling at Teachers’ Experimental BasicSchool brought a lot of life experience to him as he had keen interest in music when entertainmentshow was organized every Friday. At age 12 he was brought to Kwahu-Pepease to stay with his biologicalmother. He was then given admission to start his Junior High School Education at Roman Catholic JHS.He continued his senior high school education at Nkwatia Presby SHS and made friends with musicenthusiasm. After successful completion, he got admission to Presbyterian College Of Education,Akropong E/R Ghana. With assistance from his uncle, he complete college and learnt a lot to inspireothers as discipline was instilled in him. Not forgetting his music life, he stayed in studios writing andrecording songs to inspire others.


Stone Kay’s musical inspiration comes from the mid 90’s music acts such as Akon, R-Kelly, Tupac Shakur,Kanye West, and 50 cent. As a versatile musician with strength in Afro pop, hiphop and hiplife, Stone Kayinspires music lovers and the audience with street anthem songs. He is also intrigued in the rudiments ofR&B and Dancehall music. He works sedulously to organize good lyrics and also assist his colleagues insongwriting. The basis of Stone Kay’s works come from his life journey and what he has learnt.
